

MACON – Clara Wilhelmine Szablewski (Anderson) was born on November 29, 1924 in Roth, North Dakota, to her parents John and Emelie Anderson. After graduation, she moved with her sister and brother-in-law to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she met Leonard Szablewski, whom she married on April 23, 1949. They were married for forty-one years until his death on April 20, 1990. Together they had three children: Lois (Robert David) Newton, Carol (Mark) Toney and Brian (Gwen) Szablewski.
Mrs. Szablewski was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emelie Anderson, her siblings, Mathilda, Edith, Ida, Hjalmer, Carl, Marie and Emily and her beloved husband, Leonard.
Survivors include her sister, Anna Jensen of Oro Valley, Arizona; her daughters, Lois (Robert David) Newton of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Carol (Mark) Toney of Macon, GA; her son, Brian (Gwen) Szablewski of Minot, ND; grandchildren, Marcy (Sidney) Jarvinen of Milwaukee, WI, Daniel (Carla) Toney of Macon, GA, Ethan (Renee) Newton of Milwaukee, WI, Benjamin (Carla) Toney of East Hartford, CT; two great granddaughters, Mia and Hailey Newton of Milwaukee, WI; many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Mrs. Szablewski was a member of the Westgate Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Macon, GA. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 13, 2011, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5215 Log Cabin Drive, Macon, GA. Lars Kortes will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue.
