Donnell Johnson

MACON – Donnell Smith Johnson, 87, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012. A visitation will be held from 1 until 2 PM Thursday at Striffler Hamby Mortuary in Columbus. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Flint River Memory Care, Attn. D. Allred, 250 Water Tower Court, Macon, GA 31210.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Albany, Georgia, the daughter of the late Thelma Gertrude Prosser Smith and Toy Ruben Smith. She was a retired nurse from Fort Benning at the Martin Army Hospital. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Friends Unlimited, the VFW, the Red Hat Society and was a former volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House and Callaway Gardens.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children, Donna Fox of Macon; Eric (Kimberly) Johnson of Huntsville, AL and Roger Johnson of San Antonio, TX; daughter-in-law, Sue Johnson; grandchildren, Jason Johnson, Jennifer Schreiber, Jessica Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Taylor Johnson and Ryan Johnson; great-granddaughter, Camryn Johnson; brother, Robert (Marge) Smith.
