Doris Louise S. Coghlan

Doris Louise Coghlan, 90, passed away on Saturday, 10 Sep 2016 in Delray Beach, Fl. A visitation will be held on Thursday, 15 September at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 3077 Pio Nono Avenue, Macon, GA from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A chapel service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel at 1100 AM. The Rev Dr. Matthew Stewart will perform the service. Interment will follow the chapel service at Magnolia Park Cemetery and Mausoleum on Pleasant Hill Road, Warner Robins.

Ms Coghlan was born on 24 April 1926 in Kansas City, Kansas. She retired after 30 years as an elementary school teacher in 1985 in Valparaiso, Fl. She was passionate about teaching students and would enhance her classroom activities by creating fun projects with her children to keep them interested in the learning process. She also had another passion …. Orchids …. and spent many hours nurturing them. After spending most of her teaching years in Valparaiso, FL, she then moved to Cantonment, FL for 15 years until Hurricane Ivan in 2004 chased her inland to Bonaire, GA where her youngest daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren lived. Her final days were spent in Delray Beach, FL with her eldest daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ozburt (M.O.) Coghlan, her parents, Lester Perry & Lillian Louise Snare, and her sister Mary Carolyn Pritz.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Blais (Bob), Sherry Rydzewski (Joe), grandchildren, Chris Rydzewski (Veronica) and Danielle (Bo) Evans, and her great granddaughter, Kierra Rydzewski. She is also survived by her sisters Dorothy Bolding (her twin), Lesta Ryan, Wilma Reinhardt, Marjorie Ruth Hinkle (David), and her only brother, Perry Snare (Micki).

Though Ms Coghlan loved teaching school and growing orchids, her family was her pride and joy. Many of her happiest days were spent surrounded by family and this always put a smile on her face!
