Dorothy Dolores H. Nipper

Dorothy D. Nipper, 81, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at a local hospital. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Timothy Peavy will officiate. Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. They ask that those who wish make memorial gifts to Faith Baptist Church Parking Lot Fund, 4704 Jeffersonville Road, Macon, GA 31217.

Mrs. Nipper, a native of Macon, was the daughter of the late Sullivan and Hazel S. Hightower. She was a Certified Operating Room Technician and worked more than twenty years at Macon Hospital and Coliseum Hospital. She served with the Georgia Co-op for the Blind. Mrs. Nipper was a Charter Member of Faith Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a devoted homemaker, caregiver, wedding planner and was very talented with arts and crafts.

A dear, loving Christian Family woman, she was proud of her family and they enjoyed time spent together. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Walter Hightower, Durwood Hightower, George (G.W.) Hightower, Jewel Causey, Hilda Purvis, Francis Cauley and Carolyn Fordham, her daughter, Kathy Edwards, grandson, Joshua Dykes and great granddaughter, Khloe O’Neal.

An angel, Brittney Davis, was sent to us by God to love and care for our “Big Mama” for the past five years and we will always be grateful.

Those left to cherish her memory is her family, her husband of fifty-six years, William Samuel Nipper; her children, Balinda (Rex) Duncan, Sandra (Geno) Herin, Judy (Danny) Lynaugh, Jimmy (Sara) Dykes, Della (Jimmy) Jackson, Pam (Joey) Mauldin and son-in-law, Benjie Edwards; her brothers, James Hightower and Ronnie Hightower; her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, great-great grandchild, cousins, nieces and nephews.
