

Dorothy Anderson Jackson, 94 of Macon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Pine Pointe Hospice. Visitation will proceed the service at 2 PM. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at First Christian Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Doug Ivey will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 2306 Vineville Avenue, Macon GA 31204. Serving as pallbearers, Brad Page, Ross Cannon, Preston Hayslip, David Hayslip, Prestley Hayslip and Dennis Galyean.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Samuel Fremont Anderson and Mattie Williams Anderson. She was born in Monroe County and was a 1947 graduate of Mary Persons High School. In 1949 she married the love of her life, Billy Parham Jackson. She was a long-time member of First Christian Church.
Dorothy cherished her role as wife and mother. Above all, her most cherished role was Grandmommy to Jennifer and Hillary.
Dorothy will be missed by her son, Sammy Jackson of Peachtree City, daughter-in-law, Linda Jackson of Newnan, daughter, Barbara Jackson Hayslip and son-in-law, Prestley Hayslip of Macon, granddaughters, Jennifer Jackson Cannon (Ross) of Smyrna, and Hillary Hayslip Page (Brad) of Savannah.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Jackson, her brother, Samuel Anderson, and her sister, June Anderson Shumake.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Pine Pointe Hospice for their compassion and dedication in caring for Dorothy the last week of her life.
