

Edith B. Grant, 86, passed away on Tuesday, November 08, 2016. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Sam Waldron will officiate. The family will meet friends during a reception from 9:00 a.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home. They ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Stroke Foundation, 6405 Metcalf Avenue, Ste. 214, Overland Park, KS 66202.
For sixty years, Mrs. Grant was the wife of the late James W. Grant, Sr. who passed away in January. She was a native of Greensboro, GA and the daughter of the late James Hugh and Mamie Louise Amos Brinkley. Mrs. Grant was retired as Dietitian at McEvoy High School. She was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class and WMU. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family whom she adored.
Survivors include those who loved her most, her son James (Wanda) Grant, Jr.; grandson, Brad (Kim) Grant; granddaughter, Brittany Grant (Brandon) Brooks; great grandchildren, Ashley and Olivia Grant; sister, Mildred Gordon and several much loved nieces and nephews.
