Edward McCoy "Mac" Goddard, Jr.

Funeral services for Edward McCoy (Mac) Goddard Jr., who died on Saturday, May 24th, will be held on Tuesday, May 27th, at 11:00 AM at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon. Interment will be at 3:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery in Reynolds.

Mac was born on February 15, 1942, in Butler. He was a 1960 graduate of Reynolds High School and attended Asbury College in Wilmore, KY, from 1960 to 1962 and from 1967 to 1969. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1964. Mac was licensed as a Funeral Director/Embalmer in 1964 and was co-owner of Goddard Funeral Homes until he entered the ministry in 1979. He served as pastor of Benevolence Church near Fort Valley from 1979 to 1993, where he also founded Abounding Grace Ministries, a Christian Pastoral Counseling Center. In 1993, he founded and directed the Mabel White Pastoral Counseling Center in Macon. He left MWPSC in 1995 to become the pastor of Grace Christian Fellowship in Macon, where he continued Abounding Grace Ministries. He served there until his retirement in 2019. He came out of retirement in 2023 to become the interim pastor at Trinity Church in Reynolds and became its full-time pastor in 2024. This is the former Reynolds Methodist Church where he was raised. He was a devoted and loving, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Mac is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Annis Brunson Goddard; two children, Amy Goddard and Michael Goddard, both of Macon; three grandchildren, Sydney Michele, Caroline Ashley, and Nina; a sister, Kikky Waller of Atlanta; brothers, George (Jaye) Goddard of Kennesaw, and Bruce (Kathy) Goddard of Warner Robins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed & Naia Goddard.

Visitation will be held at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road in Macon from 9:30 AM until service time.
