

Evelyn Stokes Hallman, 78, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Liberty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Shell officiating. At Evelyn’s request, her body was donated to Mercer Medical School for the Advancement of Medical Science. The family has requested that those who wish make memorial contributions to Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 6511 Houston Road, Macon, GA 31216. They may be contacted at the residence of Harriett and Douglas Skipper on Friday from 3 - 5:30 p.m.
Mrs. Hallman, daughter of the late Ernest Harold Stokes and Clemmie Anderson Stokes, was born in Byron and was a graduate of Miller High School. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and was active in the life of her church as a former teacher of the Lucy Young Sunday School Class and as a member of United Methodist Women. She was a member of Porterfield Garden Club and had served as President for eight years.
Survivors include the family to whom she was devoted, her husband of sixty years, John Judson Hallman, Jr. of Macon; her daughter, Evelyn H. Parrish (Hal) of Forsyth; her sons, John Judson Hallman, III of Tucson, AZ and Jeffrey Harold Hallman (Jana) of Douglasville; six grandchildren, Jason, Joe, Amber, Treg, Hanna and Leah; seven great grandchildren; her sister, Harriett Skipper (Douglas) of Macon; her sister-in-law, Ann H. Stafford of Centerville and nieces and nephews.
