Faye Purvis Alford, age 82, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024. A Celebration of her Life will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Snow's Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, followed by a visitation. Pastor Matthew Bishop will officiate. Burial will be private for family only in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Alford's memory may be made to Martha Bowman United Methodist Church, Benevolent Fund, 500 Bass Road, Macon, GA 31210 or Alzheimer's Association, www.alzfdn.org.
Mrs. Alford was born in Douglas, Georgia, the daughter of the late Sara Elizabeth Nugent Purvis and Elisha Purvis. She was a homemaker and a member of Martha Bowman United Methodist Church where she loved her church life. Mrs. Alford enjoyed her family, 4-legged babies, gardening, and tennis.
Mrs. Alford is survived by her husband, O. Wesley Alford of Macon; children, Denise A. Coughenour (Richard) of Macon; Diane A. Guthrie (Jack L. Lewis, Jr.) of Watkinsville, GA, and Beth A. Pollock (Tommy) of Macon; 8 grandchildren, Rebecca Hanley (Will), Amanda Diane Coughenour, Ashley Elizabeth Stokes (Truett), Wesley Allen Guthrie, Caity-Jane Karmann Guthrie, William Elisha Guthrie, Emily Faye Pollock, and Abby Leven Pollock; great-grandchildren, Sydney Hanley, Jacob Hanley, and Kaydee Cowan; numerous nieces & nephews.
Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, is in charge of arrangements.
