

Bessie Faye Williams Powers passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at John’s Creek Baptist Chapel in Alpharetta with Rev. Tom Allen officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends from 1:00pm until service time at the chapel.
Faye attended Mercer University in Macon, GA where she was a sister if Alpha Delta Pi. While at Mercer she met and fell in love with Cliff. Cliff and Faye had a church wedding on June 19, 1954 at The Phoenix Baptist Church. They were married 62 years until Cliff was called to be with the Lord on February 21, 2017.
Cliff and Faye spent more than 50 years in Macon. In 2001, they moved to Florida to be near Faye’s sister and husband. In 2005, they moved back home to Cumming, Georgia to be near their daughters.
Faye was a member of the Bowen Sunday School class at John’s Creek Church. She was a member of the Bellmere Garden Club, and the DAR. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of numerous bridge clubs.
Faye was a proud member of many organizations and generously gave her time and talents to many worthy causes. Faye was the Administrative Assistant of Tattnall Square Baptist Church in Macon, serving many pastors.
Faye was born May 30, 1934 to the late Charles Linton Williams and Bessie Mae Thompson Williams. Besides her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Mae Catherine “Catbird” Payne, and Mary Kate Powers, and her sister, Betty Jean Williams Lee.
She is survived by her daughters, Leesa Powers Burrell of Cumming, Leslie Jean Kramb (Paul) of Dacula; grandchildren, Brent Payne (Jessica) of Cartersville, Bessie Payne of Cartersville, Jamey Burrell of Tampa FL, Cliff Kramb of Atlanta, Katie Kramb of Dacula, Grant Kramb of Dacula, Kaitlyn Payne of Dacula; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
