Florence H. Nichols

MACON – Florence H. Nichols, 96, passed away Monday, January 10, 2010 the day before her 97TH birthday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with the Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Nichols, wife of the late Claude R. Nichols, was born in Senoa, GA the daughter of the late Drew Erskine and Sallie Connally Horton. She had lived in Macon the past twenty years moving here from Thomaston. Mrs. Nichols retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Robert R. (Carole) Nichols of Macon; four grandchildren, Robert R. Nichols, Jr., Charles A. Nichols, Melissa Showers and Amy Dever; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Staff of Bolingreen Nursing Center and Evercare for their gentle and compassionate care of Mrs. Nichols and to her family.
