Born in Bennettsville, SC the daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Frances Coleman Covington, Anne grew up in Conway, SC. She attended Wesleyan College with a major in music and taught piano until beginning a career in real estate sales in 1970. She worked with Patton Realty, SSK Realty, Alexander-Frost & Co. and Sheridan Solomon Co. until her retirement in 2006. While Anne was very successful in her business careers, her greatest success came as a homemaker, mother and grandmother. Her deep Christian faith and strong work ethic was passed along to her children, all of whom have succeeded in life. Anne was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her five stepchildren, H. Thomas Patton, Jr.
When she married Tommy Alexander in 1983, she took on his three daughters as her own and melded the two families together as one. The “Alexander girls” have had Anne as their mom longer than their birth mom and they love her dearly.
