Born and raised in Macon, Frank was the beloved son of Frank Chapman Pinkston and Lucille Finney Pinkston and the cherished brother of Calder Willingham Finney Pinkston. In 1991, he married the love of his life, Jil Hulgan Pinkston, with whom he shared a devoted partnership.
A proud graduate of Stratford Academy, Frank went on to attend Emory University and later earned both his BA and MBA from Mercer University. His professional journey began in the chemistry lab at Procter & Gamble, but his true calling was in finance. He served Mercer University with distinction in the Finance Department, rising from Bursar to Assistant Vice President for Budget and Finance.
Frank was deeply engaged in his community, serving on the Board of the Hamlet on Wesleyan Homeowners Association for eight years, a role he held with dedication until his cancer diagnosis.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing and captaining his boat on Lake Sinclair and Seed Lake, and spending time at the family farm in Jones County. A lover of animals, Frank shared a special bond with his dogs Chip, Magic, and Gracie. He was a passionate follower of politics, current events, economics, a bonsai enthusiast, a skilled photographer, and a lifelong music lover.
Frank will be remembered for his intellect, his quiet strength, and his unwavering love for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jil Hulgan Pinkston; his brother, Calder Willingham Finney Pinkston; sister-in-law, Jan Hutchinson (Dave); brother-in-law, Jef Hulgan (Jennifer); and several beloved nieces and nephews: Logan Butcher, Andy Butcher (Trish), Mary Carolyn Hulgan, and Alexander Webb Pinkston.
A service to celebrate Frank’s life will be held at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Visitation to follow. The Right Reverend, Dr. Calder Willingham Finney Pinkston will officiate. Burial will be private at a later date in Highview Cemetery in Gray, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a charity of your choice in Frank’s memory.
