

Glenda Kitchens Ivey, 66, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday in Kitchens Cemetery, Highway 57, Jones County with the Rev. Gabby Loyd and the Rev. Sam Lloyd. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue.
Mrs. Ivey, wife of the late Richard Edward Ivey, was born in Macon the daughter of the late Jeff and Gladys Kitchens. She was the mother of the late Edgar “Will” Barbee and Cynthia E. Barbee. Mrs. Ivey was a member of New Haven Baptist Church and was a bus driver retired from Twiggs County Board of Education after twenty years and Bibb County E.O.C. after ten years.
She was a ham radio operator and a member of Macon Amateur Radio Club.
Mrs. Ivey is survived by her son Jeffery Kitchens and his fiancée, Cynthia Stokes; her grandson, William H. Kitchens; step grandchildren, Brandy Stokes, Christopher Stokes and Daniel Stokes; sisters, Jeanette K. (Ernie) Crawford and Marti K. Young; several nieces and nephews.
