

Glenda Noble Starr, 82, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel at 5:00 PM with Pastor Andy Oxford officiating. Burial will be private at Lane Cemetery at a later date.
Glenda was born in Cordele, Georgia in November of 1941. She attended Mercer University School of Nursing in Macon and went on to work as an operating room nurse at Tift County Hospital for many years until she moved to Macon. Glenda had a love for music and sharing it with others. She taught piano lessons for 27 years and was a member of the Adult Choir and the Handbell Choir. She was also a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Glenda served as Bibb County Office Manager to Jimmy Carter when he ran for Governor and President. Glenda had a love for cats, especially black ones, and Georgia Tech Football.
Glenda is preceded in death by her husband, Jere G. Starr; son, David Starr; parents, Mildred Abbott Thompson and Ernest Thompson; mother, Ruby A. Noble; grandmother, Lena C. Abbott.
Glenda is survived by her cousins, Dr. Steve Patterson and Bonnie Patterson Moreno and her special friend, Colby Kersey.
