

Harold Eugene Keys, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 2, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, with the Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Born in Bonaire, Georgia, Harold was the son of the late Frank and Mattie Florence Watson Keys. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kim Hunnicutt, his siblings, Jo An Ellington, Faye Peterson, James Keys and Grover Keys. Harold served his country in the United State Air Force for four years and retired after thirty-eight years with the United States Postal Service. He worked for thirteen years with the Department of Motor Vehicles. Harold was an active and involved member of Ingleside Baptist Church and former member of Mable White Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School. He enjoyed holidays, family vacations, as well as coaching Chris’s baseball and Kim’s softball teams and had a great love for music. Harold was an avid UGA football fan and Atlanta Braves fan. He loved all sports but especially playing basketball. He enjoyed watching his two granddaughters Mary Kate as a Georgette at UGA, and Meredith as a cheerleader at UGA, and was so proud that Maggie got accepted to UGA and will begin this fall. But above all else Harold was a devoted, kind, gentle, and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all.
He leaves behind a beloved wife of sixty-three years, Florabelle Gillis Keys of Macon, Georgia, son, Christopher Eugene (Jennie) Keys of Macon, Georgia, son-in-law, James Michael Hunnicutt of Macon, Georgia, grandchildren, Mary Kate (Michael) Ellis, Maggie Grace Hunnicutt, Meredith Ellen Hunnicutt, great grandchildren, Maddie and Kinsley Ellis, brother-in-law, Phil Peterson, a host of beloved nieces, nephews extended family members and dear friends.
Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road has charge of the arrangements.
