

Harold McGhee Lane, Jr. 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 4, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Oxford and Rev. Clay Bowden officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 7015 Rivoli Road, Macon GA 31210 or Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon GA 31210.
Harold was born in Springfield, TN to the late Harold McGhee Lane Sr. and Helen Cherry Lane Braswell. He served his country in the United States National Guard and was retired from Georgia Power Company after thirty-six years of service. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and former member of Turning Point where he served as a Deacon. Harold volunteered with Rebuilding Macon and Umpiring at North Macon Ball Park. He loved the outdoors fishing, boating, hunting, and watching “Georgia Bulldogs” and traveling with his family and friends. Harold found his greatest joy being a proud “Pop” to his grandchildren watching them playing sports. Harold was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Sue C. Lane of Macon, children, James (Molly) Meng, Vanessa (Michael) Antu, Amie (Brian) Wall, Brian (Lisa) Lane, grandchildren, Corbin Antu, Chole Meng, Shelby Antu, Cauy Wall, Xander Meng, Mac Lane and Railey Lane, two great grandchildren, Ellison Antu and Eden Antu, siblings, Diane (Ed) Farley, Linda Lane, Tom (Karla) Lane, Billy Braswell, Les (Susan) Lane, and Don Lane and several nieces and nephews.
