

MACON—Mr. Harold Frank Parks, 77, of Macon, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 11th at Riverside Cemetery with Dr. John F. Gibson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 10th at Snow’s Memorial Chapel on Cherry Street from 6-8 P.M. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Children’s Hospital at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, 858 High Street, Macon, GA 31201.
Mr. Parks was born in Lake City, Tennessee and was the son of Luther Parks and Della Mae Bratcher Parks. He was educated in Lake City, TN public schools.
During his life, Mr. Parks worked for the Department of Energy from 1952-1956. He then traveled in the north from 1957-1962, representing the Mars Candy Company. From 1963-1992 he traveled the southeast, representing several men’s clothing companies. He was then self-employed from 1992-1995, at which time he retired. Mr. Parks was truly a hard-working man.
Mr. Parks was a member of the Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Al Sihah Shrine Temple, and was a member of the motorcycle unit.
Mr. Parks is survived by his wife, Betty Wilson Parks of Macon; a daughter, Veronica Parks (Gary) Sharp of Seymour, TN; stepson, Richard Howard (Merlie) Hatmaker of High Point, NC; grandson, Joshua David Firth of Nashville, TN; step granddaughter, Nikita Leigh Hatmaker of High Point, NC; cousins living in Tennessee, Florida and Michigan; and a godson, Wesley Duggar of Mobile, AL.
