

Ida Belle Akins English, 103, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Evergreen/St. James Cemetery. Chaplain Steven Keith will officiate. The family will meet friends from 1 p.m. to service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. English, wife of the late Roy Wesley English, Sr., was a native of Griffin and was the daughter of the late Jacob Harrison Akins and Ida Otelia Willis Akins.
Living in Macon most of her life, she was retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of Houston Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Emory English and a grandson, Alan Karl Stephens. Above all, Mrs. English was a devoted homemaker who cherished her family. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Roy Wesley English, Jr., Suellen English Stephens, Charles Phillip English; grandchildren, Debra Sue English Anderson (Kelly), Roger Wesley English (Marilyn), Tamara Lynn English, John Weston English, Ronny Eugene Stephens, Eugene Walter Stephens, Jr. (Paige); great grandchildren, Patrick Anderson, Emily Claire Anderson (John), Marianne LaBorde (Keith), Madeline LaBorde, Andrew Parker Stephens, Madelyn Paige Stephens, Riley Phoenix Stephens, Maddox Giles Stephens and her great-great grandchild, Re’my Lapuyade.
