Dear family.  I just learned tonight that Jack has passed.  My heart is sadden.   Wish I had known, I would have been to the funeral.  He was always so wonderful to me.  A wonderful boss and a good friend.  My love and prayers to you, Jan, Tommy, Liz and family.  Marilyn Pavlovsky

I was saddened to hear of Jack's death.  We had some great times at Stratford and UGA.  He was always a fine gentleman and it was great to catch up with each other when our paths crossed later in life.

Sentiments to the family. So sorry for your loss. I always had a lot of respect for Jack.

He was a great friend and was always there to give a kind  word when you needed one. He was a great little brother in in our fraternity and was always there when there was a gathering of the rest of the boys. He has had some trying times but always came back upbeat and ready to go again. I will miss talking to him and had planned to come see him this next week. Jan could have not been any better for him and kept him going through all of his difficult times. Robin

If you had the pleasure to work for Jack...you know that he was more than just a boss. He cared for his employees.
I guess you could say he was part of my family at that time of my life. He 
gave the Bride away at my wedding.


I feel blessed to get to know and work with Jack beginning back in 1995 soon after I moved to Macon. Jack the artist and businessman helped us open six Goodwill training stores and Job Connection career centers in six months back in the late 90's, enabling thousands of unemployed and underemployed people from Macon to Aiken build a career pathway out of poverty. Jack was faithfully there to help Goodwill of Middle Georgia establish social enterprise mission operations in the new Augusta region, ensuring our brand was communicated with professional quality and beauty.
Jack revealed his philanthropic heart with every sign he built for our autonomous charity, and he was always a great encourager to me to press on. He wasn't shy to tell me when he thought I was seeing things incorrectly, and his guidance was almost always correct.

Jack's smiling eyes, charming grin and generous heart will be missed.

I am praying for the new tender spot in the hearts of Jan, Tommy and Liz, and Jack's grandchildren. 

I am believing that God has Jack working to improve the signage that leads to heaven and directs others to places of deeper beauty and grace.

I worked for Jack for a little over 10 years. He was always fair and stern. Had some of the best times of my life working for him. He could talk his way out of a wet paper sack. And sell anything!  Always had something new for us to try. That was why we all stayed around. He had several employees that had 30+ years. He helped me several times without hesitation and actually anyone who worked for him. You had to fire yourself because Jack didn’t have the heart to fire you.  He’s a legend in the sign business in middle Georgia.  He will be missed! 

I knew Jack from all the way back, as classmates at Joseph N. Neel Elementary School, Willingham High School and Southwest.
We talked a few times via phone, and saw each other at the 1991 SWHS 20th Reunion. Even though we lived 1600 miles apart all these years, I always was happy to see news of his family and business (as with all my classmates).
Just a few weeks ago, I tried to reach him, just to say "hello", but wasn't able to. 
He was a great guy.

Condolences to the family. Jack was a great classmate (Class of 71). He always had a smile. He will be missed by many.

Jack was a dear friend and fraternity brother. Always a joy to be around and he had a genuine love for his fraternity brothers . Great golfer , great sense of humor and a fine southern gentleman. We will miss you dearly my brother.
