Mr. Lary was an amazing man!  He could do a lot of things really well, including making the best doughnuts ever!  He used to host boxing fights-(Tyson, Holyfield, Hearns, and others)and we would all have the best time.  He would tell stories and laugh.  He had an infectious laugh! He will be sorely missed.  Praying for the Lary family.

Such a pilar of the East Macon community. I've known this man all of my life and each time I saw him as I picked up sweets for my office, he was always the same. It was a bitter sweet moment on yesterday to think back to the old NPG days and seeing my childhood friends. 

I will continue to pray for the Lary6. May God continue to Bless each of you!!

Mr. Lary, I didn't have the opportunity to know you personally, but I knew of you through you daughter Janice.  The wonderful things she said about you as she told me about your life in this earthly realm, I was amazed and totally captivated!  Janice sang your praises to me from the rooftops and I felt as if you were right there beside me, the entire time.  What a legacy you've left behind for her and your other children.  I truly wish I had seen you in person, but I know that one day I will see you in GLORY!

Janice, as time goes on for us, I pray that you and your siblings will remember ALL the times with your dad, as they were all precious, because God gave them to you.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your family.  It truly is an honor for me to call you my sister and I love you, so very much, from the depth of my soul.  Remember, I'm just a phone call away.

My God!!! My God!!! This is Sooo Hard for me cause words will not allow me to express this moment of Sorrow!!! To All of Lary's Adorable Sons & Daughters!!! May it Comfort Each of You Knowing that Your Amazing Father Unconditionally Love You'll to Pieces!!! I can hear him now telling me how so very Proud he was of his Children name by name!!! I will never forget the voice of his Laughter, Jokes & Sillyness along with his Cheesstraws he would say well I be   I can't even get da xxxx things out the oven good enough before you eating the xXxX things up!!! Had to throw a moment of Smiles with My tears!!! What an Amazing, Hard & Dedicated Worker, Jack of All Trade, Funny, Loving Adorable Etc. Man he was!!! I can hear him say now (Shell)  if he could what you xXxX mean I was still is.(Smile) I could go on & on about King Mr. James Walter Lary Sr. from the time he was born until!! May God's Love Guide, Protect & Keep Watch over each of Sons & Daughters Always & especially during this difficult time!!! Please accept my deepest condolences, Mr. Lary was not only an incredible baker but he also served as my Scout Leader when I joined the Boy Scouts Of America at New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. My he rest in eternal peace.

My thoughts are with you during this time.  Mr. Lary made my birthday cakes for nearly 30 years. He was a kind and sweet man.  He will be missed.  Praying the Lord comfort you during this time.

We were saddened to learn of Mr. Lary's passing. He was such a sweet man and his bakery was one of our favorite places to visit. In fact, he made our wedding cake 40 years ago. Our prayer is that God will give you strength, comfort and peace as only He can.

My deepest sympathies to the Lary family. Mr. Lary was THE BEST, and my kids always loved to watch his incredible talent through the little window. He was always so warm and friendly and made the best bread pudding and cheese straws this side of heaven. May God give his family the comfort and strength that only He can. Mr. Lary will be missed by so many.

Sending prayers for the Lary family. So sorry to hear about Mr Lary. I loved that man,he was good to me.Hired me when I was in high school it was my first job,at Larys Bakery.He was a  good man and I know heaven gained a angel.

Mr. Lary was THE best baker in central GA..bar none.  I especially loved his apple fritters! My sincere condolences to the family.

What I know of Mr. Lary is informed primarily from my relationship with his son, Jason. One of my closest friends (and frat brother), Jason exemplifies the best qualities of husband, father, brother, friend, and neighbor -- I'm sure, in no small part, due to the example set by his father. My deepest condolences to Jason, Debbie, Jason Jr., Jamie, and the entire Lady extended family. Peace and blessings as you celebrate the life of your beloved patriarch.

I am so sorry for your family loss, prayers are with you all.

As a child my moma and daddy bought grocery at the Piggly Wiggly on Saturday morning. I would always want to walk over to Lary's Bakery, and watch him decorate his cakes. He was a good man.

We shall always remember Mr. Lary and his most delicious bakery delicacies that he shared with the City of Macon and surrounding communities. Family, may the LORD bless and keep you in this time of sorrowful transition.

I used to love getting my birthday cakes from Lary's bakery.  They were so good.  I'm very sorry for your loss.

He was awarded the honor of Director Emeritus for his years of dedication to the bakery industry.  His talents and sharing helped so many other bakers through the years.
