As a member of the running family I would describe Jim in just one word "inspirational". He was a friend to all, young & old. I wanna be like Jim.

My heart goes out to the McMahon Family. Your Dad made me feel like family with his kindness and care. Whenever, I saw his 5K pictures, I would smile and say out loud- "Way To Go, Jim!" He was an inspiration! I'm sure as with me, he gave others the motivation to be determined and dedicated to their dreams.
WAY TO GO, JIM!- WELL DONE!
You will be missed, but always known in our hearts as the man who saw His Finish Line. WELL DONE!

To all the McMahons, especially Mrs. McMahon. It was a honor to know your husband & father. We shared memories each time Mr. MCMahon came in the office I worked for. He would update me on Michael he and I were close in high school. He always bragged on his children & his beautiful wife. May the love of God and the gift of time bring comfort and healing through the loss of Mr. McMahon . Caring prayers for all of the McMahons.

It was with great sadness my husband Gene and I learned in this morning's Telegraph of the passing of our friend and inspiration, Jim McMahon. Jim was a much loved fixture at the 5Ks we run. Jim almost always finished last or near last-but he was out there and MOVING and that's what counts!! We always looked forward to seeing Jim and the tremendous example and encouragement he was to everyone who met him. I often teased "I want to be like you if I grow up(not when)." To Jim's beloved family-thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing this remarkable man and his wonderful spirit and attitude with his 5K family. 5Ks won't be the same not seeing him moving steadily toward the finish, and lounging in his favorite lawn chair after the race. I will wear a pink shirt on my next 5K in his honor. "Age is a state of mind-you grow old when you stop learning." Jim never stopped learning-we will learn always from him and his example of keeping on keeping on. Now he's running laps with Peter and Paul-and keeping up!!
