Jan Rowland Rachels passed on October 15, 2026, at the age of 85. She was a resident of Canton, Georgia. Visitation will be held at Snow's Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by A Celebration of Her Life at Snow's Memorial Chapel beginning at 12:00 pm. Her son, Dr. Jason Rachels will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salvation Army, 1955 Broadway, Macon, GA 31206.
Jan was born in Meeks, Georgia and was retired from the State Farmer's Market in Macon serving as secretary for 23 years and then the last two as manager. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also had a love for gardening and cooking. Jan was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Martin Rachels. Jan was of the Baptist Faith and attended Tabernacle in Macon at one time.
Jan is survived by her children, Kim Merritt (Todd), Karen Pearson (Brent), and Jason Rachels (Jennifer); nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, has charge of arrangements.
