Janice Marie Askew Lanford, passed away on April 29, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in the chapel of Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road with Pastor John Kinser officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Janice was born in Fulton County, Georgia on March 4, 1946. She grew up in Lilburn, Georgia and graduated from Lilburn High School in 1964. Janice married the love of her life Daniel (Dick) Lanford, Jr. in 1965 and would have celebrated their 57th anniversary this June. She enjoyed various arts and crafts, travelling, family vacations and going antique shopping with her husband. Janice loved to cook, especially for family during holidays and vacations. She also enjoyed painting, sewing, interior decorating and making creative things. Janice had a kind heart and greeted everyone with a big, warm smile. She was a wonderful wife, devoted mother and grandmother to four grandsons who she adored. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lois Askew and brother, Ricky Askew.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel “Dick” Lanford, Jr.; son, Brent (Vicki) Lanford; daughter, Alicia (Chris) Mitchell; grandsons, Nicholas Lanford, Carter Lanford, Addison Mitchell and Bryce Mitchell; brother, Jerry Askew; sister, Barbara Trent; sister-in-law, Patty Askew; several nieces and nephews.
