

Jean Dryden Corson, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026 @ 11:00 a.m. at Vineville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Pope and Rev. Julie Long officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Jean was born July 25, 1933, in Sycamore, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Mamie Lou Dryden. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Winslow Corson in 2011. She was an honor graduate of Sycamore High School in Sycamore, Georgia. She completed her freshman year of college at Mercer University where she was active in choir, Mercer Players, and Glee Club. She graduated from Georgia Southwestern College with an Associate Degree in Business in 1952. While there, she was a member of YPCA, Qua Delta, BSU, Wesley Foundation, Glee Club, Dancing Club, and a voice student. Later in life she returned to Mercer for a third year of study.
In 1961, Jean married Captain Edward Winslow Corson, USAF. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2011. During her lifetime, she taught Business subjects in high school, was a school para pro; held secretarial, banking and retail positions. For 15 years she taught English as a second language through the Japanese Friendship Program at Mulberry Methodist and Vineville Baptist Churches. She was a dedicated member of Vineville Baptist Church. She was active in the Adult Choir, Mary Martha Sunday School Class and served on many church committees throughout the years.
She was a member of the Morning Music Club, Thornwood Garden Club, Howard Community Club, and a past member of Idle Hour Country Club. For the past year, she lived at West Hill Memory Care.
The family would like to extend special thanks for the care given to Mrs. Corson by West Hill Memory Care and Family Hospice.
Survivors include daughter, Kitty (Tommy) Knight of Macon, grandchildren, Mamie Katharine (Tyler) Newton, Anna Victoria Knight (Alek Lipko) and a great granddaughter due August 10, 2026, Rosemary Jean, brother-in-law, Richard Hays Corson, niece, Julia Corson, close cousins, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Connie Corson and nephew, Peter Corson.
Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road has charge of the arrangements.
