Jon Robert Wolfe, 80, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021. A visitation/reception will be held from 5 until 7 PM Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Daybreak, 174 Walnut Street, Macon 31201.

Mr. Wolfe was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was the son of the late Patricia Stalnaker Wolfe and Roland L. Wolfe and was preceded in death by a brother, Roland Wolfe, Jr. Being an Army brat, he lived in several places in his younger years. From ages 12-16, he lived in Paris, France while his father was stationed with Army Communications. Many good stories of those years!

He was retired from GEICO in 2007 where he began his career in 1971 and then the family moved to Macon in 1974 when the GEICO Southeast Regional office opened. He loved words and was famous for memos in the office that required a thesaurus to read. Truthfully, at home and with his extended family sometimes too. He was a beloved mentor to many and well respected by all whose paths crossed with his. He was a proud alumni of the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Wolfe was a charter member of the Wesleyan Adult Lifelong Learning “WALL”, enjoying the many classes he took and the friendships he developed. He served on the Juvenile Review Board for Macon-Bibb County. As long as health permitted he was at the Wellness Center almost daily just to socialize as much as to exercise.

Mr. Wolfe loved reading and doing crossword puzzles. He had no greater love than his family and was an adoring husband, a gentle and firm father, and a doting grandfather. He also was a fan of clever stories – just ask why there is “No H” in his name, what the “R” stands for, and why he does not like chicken. Mr. Wolfe was of the Methodist Faith and remained quietly dedicated his entire life.

Mr. Wolfe is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wilma H. Wolfe of Macon; sons, Jon Christopher “Chris” Wolfe (Mary) of Macon and Brad Wolfe (fiancé, Candy) of Macon; grandchildren, Ryan Wolfe, Ethan Wolfe, and Maran Wolfe; siblings, Patricia Woodruff (Randy), Nickie Cox (Robert), and Ben Wolfe (Nelda); several nieces and nephews; step-mother, Sheila Wolfe.

I knew Jon Wolfe my entire life (I am one of his sisters). There is a hole in my life. He was so “cool”. He was so good as an Elvis impersonator in high school that the girls in the audience swooned. He was much loved by his family. I know mom and dad and brother Pete are with him. Jon was always such a great listener and gave good advice. He married and was so happy with his beautiful Willie. So proud of Chris and Brad and their choices of a wife. And, his grandchildren. He was so level headed. And, full of love. Until we meet again - Nickie Cox

So saddened to hear of this news. Jon was absolutely the best leader and teacher I've worked with. He used every encounter as a teaching opportunity. He was greatly admired by all. Praying for peace and strength for the family.

Sincere condolences to the entire Wolfe family. I feel your loss for your loved one. I know Brad from BSO and the attitude he has shows the upbringing he was given from his family. Heartfelt sympathy to the Wolfe family. Lay your burdens on the LORD and he will walk you through.

I did not know Jon Robert Wolfe and that will always be my loss. I have known his son, Brad Wolfe, for over 20 years. Brad has always been a role model to look up to and a great example of what a law enforcement officer should strive to be. That in itself, shows the family that he comes from and I can only imagine what work ethic that Mr. Wolfe has passed on to his sons. I have had the pleasure of being in court with Chris Wolfe on cases and he seems to have that great work ethic as well. God, I ask you to bless the Wolfe Family with Love and Peace and ease their sad hearts. May Jon Robert Wolfe rest in forever peace.

Jon, I am glad you are in heaven now. It just broke my heart to see your health failing and I know it was hard on your family too. You are the mentor who taught this young girl how to "think" Never answering a question with a Yes or No answer, only with "thought provoking" scenarios to ponder. I am not sure you ever understood the respect we all had for you. All while taking the position that women really should not be working at all. We Love You and will miss you so much! Hugs!

Oh how my heart hurts. What a man, what a legend ! He was a father, teacher, mentor, friend to all. Never a negative word about anyone or Geico. Thankful he is home with our Lord and no longer suffering . Words are not sufficient to adequately describe this man or the loss we all feel. Prayers for Wilma, Chris and Brad.
