Joyce Slaton Moring

Joyce Slaton Moring, 76, passed away on January 26, 2013 in a local nursing home. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with the Rev. Kevin Mills officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 PM till service time. To those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 866 Mulberry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.

Mrs. Moring was born in Macon County to the late Ione McCarty Slaton and Raymond Oris Slaton. She was a retired Registered Nurse for the Coliseum Hospital. Mrs. Moring was in the first graduating class of nurses from Georgia Southwestern University. She was a member of Martha Bowman Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Pauline Slaton and Jo Tanner and her brother: Bennie Slaton.

Mrs. Moring is survived by her loving husband: Frank H. Moring of Marshallville; three sons: Tommy (Terryl) Moring of Roanoke, VA, Mark (Rosemary) Moring of Macon and John (Trish) Moring of Warner Robins; and a daughter: Amy (Mark) Meisner of Freeport, FL; grandchildren: Megan, David, Drew, Casey, Callie, Andrew, Kelly, Zoe, and Sydney; siblings: Gene (Sally) Slaton, Brian Slaton and Bonnie (Jack) Doles; several nieces and nephews.
