
Julia Tanner Davis, 87, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with Father Vernon Knight and the Rev. Glenn Haskins officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. (CST), Friday at Hollywood Cemetery, Wartrace, TN. The family will meet friends from 10:30 a.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, T. Lynn Davis, Jr. and her son, Buck Davis. She was the daughter of the late James Terrell Tanner and Mary Kathryn Hagerty Tanner. Born in Franklin, TN, she raised and showed Tennessee Walking Horses with her father. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of St. Bernard’s Academy in Nashville TN and Sullins College in Bristol, VA and worked as an interior decorator in Nashville, TN before marrying Mr. Davis and settling in Macon. She was a stay-at-home Mom and helped her husband when conducting antique auctions. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include her sons, Jim Davis and Matt Davis, both of Macon; two grandchildren, Justin Davis and Deidre Davis of Macon; daughter-in-law, Kim Davis of Macon.
