Julie Regina Hodges Moran

Julie Regina Hodges Moran of Macon, Georgia passed away on May 31, 2026, at the age of 56. A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 11 A.M. at North Macon Presbyterian Church with Rev. Hunter Stevenson and Rev. Bob Brinson officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.

Born in Millen, Georgia, Julie was a near-lifelong resident of eastern Georgia. Julie dedicated her professional and personal life to the instruction and rearing of children in the classical Christian tradition, working for many years as an educator of preschool children, raising three sons, and caring daily for her granddaughter, whom she taught to read. She was a quick-witted, devoted wife, a patient and loving mother to her sons, a doting aunt to her nieces and nephew. She was a gracious mother-in-law, generous with her time and help, a selfless grandmother who spent her spare time as a volunteer in her grandchild’s classroom and ballet studio, known to all children with pride and love as Nina. She loved babies and dachshund puppies. There was never any living creature, human or animal, which came to her in need that was ever turned away. Among many things, Julie will be remembered for her compassion for others, her extraordinary skill for order and organization, her expert management of home and classroom, and above all, her faithful determination and strength in the face of suffering.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jewel Hodges. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Hodges Cooke (Allen), as well as three nieces, Hannah Van Puffelen (Breck), Ashley Raddatz (Jim) and Monique Robinson, and a nephew, Micah Cooke. She is survived by her husband, Richard Moran, and three sons, Cody Moran (Mallory), Justin Moran, and Corban Moran, as well as two great-nieces, Jewel and Magnolia Van Puffelen; one great-nephew, Ridge Van Puffelen; and one granddaughter, Genevieve Moran, who was her light and her joy.

Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, has charge of arrangements.
