Kathryn Whitehead

Kathryn Joan Whitehead, 86, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kathleen with Fr. Eric Filmer officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Burial will be private at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Perry Volunteer Outreach, 801 Commerce St., Perry 31069.

Kathryn was born in Macon to the late Clarence Milton and Dora Hagin Mercer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Whitehead and two sisters, Joyce Stonecypher and Coleen Mercer Hannon. Kathryn was a graduate of Lanier High School for Girls. She retired from the Tog Shop in Perry. Kathryn was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kathleen.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Bird (Robert) of Kathleen, Donald Whitehead Jr. (Dixie) of Griffin, Stephen Whitehead (Renee) of Las Vegas, NV, Neal Whitehead of Perry, Russell Whitehead (Deb) of Griffin, Robert Whitehead (Julie) of Hawkinsville, Pamela Muneer (Laith) of Nashville, TN; twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
