BYRON – Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Mitchell, Sr., 66, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 23, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Willie Crosby will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Central Georgia Sitters Fund, 6261 Peake Road, Macon 31210 or to the National Kidney Foundation of Georgia, Suite 211, 2951 Flowers Road, South, Atlanta, GA 30341.
He was preceded to Heaven by his parents, Mary and William “Speedy”” Mitchell, his wife, Beverly Mitchell, his brother, Bobby Mitchell and his sisters, Ann Francis and Sue Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of First Christian Church of Centerville.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Mitchell of Byron; his son, Kenneth Ray Mitchell, Jr. (Sissy) of Marion, OH; step daughter, Jessica Wilder of Macon; stepson, Travis Trimble (Rachel) of McDonough; brothers, Bill Mitchell (Faye) of Macon, Larry Mitchell of Knoxville, Roy Mitchell of Forsyth, Joey Speir of Forsyth and Mike Mitchell of Macon; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
