Linda Mallory, 83, gently passed away on Monday, October 18th, 2021 after bravely suffering a brief illness. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery with Dr. Laudis H. "Rick" Lanford officiating.
She was the daughter of the late Stanley Alexander Doak and Nellie Campbell Doak. She was born on November 3, 1937, in Durham, North Carolina, and lived most of her adult life in Sandersville and Macon, Georgia.
She made friends wherever she went, and “never met a stranger.” It was not uncommon for her to strike up meaningful conversations in any place: grocery stores, airports and the “beauty shop.” Linda led a very organized life, proud of her home and having “everything in its place”. Many sought her out for wise, honest, and candid advice which was always presented in a friendly manner. Her knack for listening was responsible for long enduring phone conversations.
Linda was raised in the Baptist faith and was a former member of the Sandersville United Methodist Church where she loved leading a Sunday school class of teenagers, as well as her Bible study “circle.”
Linda was a wonderful cook and the family gathered on holidays to enjoy her home and fine meals. She was a devoted wife and mother who dearly loved her family and enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-five years, William “Bill” Mallory of Macon, her three children, David (Robin) Mallory of Cartersville, Mark A. Mallory and Melinda Mallory Moody of Macon, and grandchildren, Daniel Mallory of Fairhope, AL, Aaron Mallory of Cartersville, Heather Mallory of Macon, Hannah M. Noll (David) of Cartersville, and Charlotte A. Moody and Mallory R. Moody.
