I first met Dee in 1969 when we worked together at the YDC in Milledgeville. We had many great memories from fishing, picking up pecans, and generally enjoying life. Dee was truly a friend to all. Your gentle nature will be missed.

Dee was a wonderful man and friend to all. He was loved by all and I will miss Dee. He was a real human being. He's in a much better place, but I know that he is missed by those who knew and loved him.

I knew "Dee" as "Louie D," and as a soldier in the early 1970's and have never forgotten him. He was a true southern gentleman that always demonstrated a sense dignity, decorum and intelligence - even when we celebrated various events together. In addition to being dignified, he was a loyal friend. Our mutual Army buddy Mark Ellis told me of his passing...yet another person whom has remembered Louie D. fondly for more than 40 years...

I am Mark Ellis' Mother. My husband and I visited Germany when Mark and Louie were in service. The guys had a great cookout for us and we enjoyed Louie so much. He was such an interesting fella and he will be missed by many. My sympathy goes out to all who were related to him or knew him.

I first met Louie D Hansford when we were in the U.S. Army together at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey California. We then served together in the NATO Headquarters in Seckenheim Germany and became close friends. That's Dee and I in the black and white photo in front of the Strasbourg Cathedral in France. I did the portrait of Dee from that photo. I will miss our conversations so very much. I will end this note the way i ended every conversation I had with my old friend...Louie D Hansford Jr you are my brother. I love you man.
