Upon reflection, Lyle Brooks was a man who loved his family and his faith. I enjoyed working with Lyle for many years. RIP

So very sorry for your loss. I so appreciated being yours and Lyles' pastor for the 12 years that I was at Forest Hiils UMC. I was also proud of learning about him, Tom, and Conn's involvement in Kairos after I moved. I know they helped to change a lot of lives. Linda I will always remember your spear-heading starting The Pumkin Patch ministry. You and Lyle were two of mine and Diane's favorite people. Shanna and James- Michael remember Craig and Aaron fondly.  Lyle was a true follower of Jesus. We will all see him again one day. Praise God! Jim Smith

Dear Linda, Craig, and Aaron: Bill and I are thinking of you as you deal with the loss of Lyle. This Christian man was loved and appreciated by our family.  Lyle was a person you could call any time of day or night if you needed help. He rescued me many times! We respected his service and devotion to our church, the Boy Scouts of America, and Kairos ministry. Lyle is now rejoicing in Heaven with friends and family as we miss him here on earth. So sorry for the loss of Lyle,  God has called him to his heavenly home, he will always be alive and well in the house that God has prepared for his humble and faithful servant. Sweet Linda & boys I am so sorry about Lyle’s passing . He will certainly be missed by all that knew him ! We all had so much fun at work . Lyle was such a good neighbor.  On many occasions he and/or Linda have been very kind to me. I am grateful for his life. His Christian example and church activities will be remembered eternally. Love to Linda and their sons and families. 

Lyle was a man who loved his Savior, his wife, his family and his church family with a servant's heart. We at FHUMC will all miss him and his careful, prayerful administrations as head of trustees; his delicious spaghetti at family night suppers; and his quick addition and encouragement in bridge strategies. I know he's relishing his reward, and we are left to count him as another treasure that we will get to enjoy again when we get there.
 

Lyle was an incredible pillar of the church and someone to count on if you ever needed anything. I will miss terribly seeing him daily at the church with the cheerful greeting he always had, the laughter we always shared, and the advice that he would give. Linda, Aaron, and Craig, I am so sorry for your loss. We are praying for you all. 

Lyle was a good friend to have at BellSouth. He always had a unique way in adding humor to any situation. He shared my interest in old cars and guns, so we talked a lot until we, in the Macon office, lost him when he went to the Atlanta office. He still made time to visit us in Macon. Enjoy your reward Buddy!

I am so very sorry to hear about Lyle’s passing... my relationship with Lyle goes back to the Bellsouth Yellow Page days when he was my salesman.   I will also cherish many conversations we had leaning on the hood of my truck at his home and at Forest Hills Methodist Church... I worked with Lyle at BellSouth. We first met in 2001.  We were internet mgrs together. Then he moved on and he was my APO,  for someone who does not understand that acronym he was my support person, the person I would go to for help and guidance which he always provided to me no matter what. Lyle was a good person and a tremendous citizen in this world we all live in. We need more people in this world like Lyle Brooks. He will be missed. 

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Lyle's passing. I grew up with Craig and Aaron at Forest Hill and he was always such a great guy. He gave of his time to drive us around in the boat on youth group lake trips, and was a good dad and loving husband. Rest in peace until we rise in Glory, Mr. Lyle. 

So sorry Linda and family.  What a great guy and  a pillar of support that will be forever missed at FHUMC and I will miss our talks about a wide range of topics .  What a kind and capable leader of the Trustees.  Prayers and so sorry for your loss.

I was honored to work with Lyle at BAPCO until I transferred to Pensacola, Fl.  I am sorry for the loss that Linda and the boys will face but Lyle is walking the streets of gold with his Lord and Saviour.  When God is ready for you then he calls you home.  Linda and the boys cherish your memories.   May God comfort you in your time of need.  We were blessed to have known Lyle!


Always enjoyed working with Lyle and he was a true Christian Gentleman! He shared his love of Christ with many! Prayers sent for comfort for his wife and family! Lyle, will be missed!

Lyle and I worked for Bellsouth together as Internet Managers. He was a tremendous support and mentor to me when I was new in that title.  Lyle was a pleasure to work with, and he was always lots of fun! My best memory was when a group of us got lost in Callaway Gardens during a Company event. We left a restaurant on the grounds and missed the exit out of the gardens. We drove deeper into the gardens (now closed) and it was pitch dark. Lyle took the lead, and we followed him to the one exit that was open during those late hours. He was our hero! It was a scary yet funny event that will be remembered forever by those of us involved.  Lyle was a lovely man, and I will always remember him fondly. It was a pleasure to know him and to have worked with him. My condolences to the family, with prayers for peace and strength. God bless Lyle.

Lyle was a great guy who showed me how to love the Lord.  We were in the Walk to Emmaus  Cluster together.  He asked if I would give a talk.  I kept telling him I was scared to speak in front of people.  I’ll never forget how much he prayed for me, and I finally said I would be delighted.  I’ll always treasure our friendship and the servants heart I saw in Lyle.  Rest In Peace.

So sorry for your loss Linda. Will always remember Lyle for his kind heart & willingness to serve the Walk to Emmaus. He will be truly missed.

Lyle was a very special person.  He was always ready to help, lead or pray for anyone. He served everyone he met in one way or another.  He taught me how to be a Christian with a sense of humor. I dearly loved Lyle.  I will never forget all the good times we enjoyed together and I’m a better man because of him. Rest In Peace my friend.  You will be missed, but heaven has gained!

Lyle Brooks is one of the many people that make up the body of Christ for me. His willingness to share his time and his gift for producing a fabulous meal made a huge impact on my walk with Christ.  My prayers will include gratitude that I was allowed to know him and the sincerest condolences to Linda and his family. 

I worked with Lyle 20 years ago at BellSouth and he defined what a wonderful family man was all about. He spoke lovingly all the time about his wife and kids and how dedicated he was to the church. I am saddened to hear this news and wish comfort, sympathy and condolences on Lyle's passing. May he rest in peace.

Lyle was a friend in the truest since of the word. He was there if you needed him.  I called on him so many times after my husband Brooks passed away.  He went above and beyond in helping me. He was a friend that you could rely on for help.  Brooks and I loved him dearly.

Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Linda Orren Brooks, they would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on May 29th. Also surviving are his sons, Craig Brooks (Amanda) of Macon, and Aaron Brooks (Kellie) of Macon; grandchildren, Mattison and Christopher both of Macon; mother-in-law, Mary Orren of Prescott, AR.
