

MARSHALLVILLE – Mary Margaret Brookins Massey, 91, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, in a local nursing care facility. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. John Prettyman will give the eulogy. The family will meet friends following the service at graveside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Fellowship Baptist Church, 8460 Hawkinsville Road, Macon, GA 31216.
Mrs. Massey was born July 12, 1919, in Sparta, Georgia. She grew up and attended school there. She was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She worked at the Naval Ordnance plant in Macon during World War Two. Later she was employed at J. C. Penney’s. Mrs. Massey was a devoted Christian and a member of Central Fellowship Baptist Church where she was a member of Forever Young Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, Charles Massey, Sr., and parents George W. and Annie V. Brookins.
She is survived by her children Becky (Wallace) Burns, Charles (Patsy) Massey, Stephen (Vickye) Massey, sister Nell Knowles, six grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
