

Margaret “Maggie” Kelly Wilson Long, 82, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, May 9, 2016 at 10:00am at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Kenneth Keene officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday night from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, 31201 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, 31201.
Mrs. Long was born in Americus, Georgia to the late Russell M. Kelly and Janet Haynes Smith and was preceded in death by husbands, Ray Wilson and Preston Long, and sister, Janet Kelly Collins. She was a homemaker and member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Mrs. Long was also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her proudest accomplishment was her seven children; she enjoyed spending time with them and their friends.
Survivors include her children, Vickie Wilson Welker, Patty Wilson, Ellen Wilson (Clint) Sowell, Susan Wilson Knight, John G. Wilson, James Ray Wilson and Seth C. Wilson; brothers-in-law, Steve (Gena) Wilson and Roger (Ruth) Wilson; ten grandchildren; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friend, John Dunwoody.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lynn Haven Health and Rehab and Southern Care Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
