Marilyn Leach

November 21, 1933June 4, 2021

Marilyn Kitchens Leach, 87, swept her way into the gates of Heaven and into the arms of her Savior on June 4, 2021. Her husband, Jim, parents, sisters, brother and special kitty, Calico, were also on hand to welcome her home.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Snow’s Memorial Chapel on Cherry Street in Macon. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 AM at Snow’s with the Rev. Scott Walston officiating. A graveside service will follow at Macon Memorial Park.

Mrs. Leach was born and raised in Jones County, a place she loved with all her heart. She graduated from A.L. Miller High School in 1951 and could not wait to start work, so she would have money to buy things on her own, like her beloved sewing machine and piano. She kept that same attitude throughout her life, not asking anyone for help when she knew she could complete a task herself.

Among her many loves were her Savior, Elam Baptist Church, where she was a member for many years, her family, her home, her pets and children. She welcomed a multitude of indoor and outdoor cats and dogs through the years. She said she could not stand to see a hungry animal, so she never hesitated to take a needy one in. She cared for children in her home in her younger years and later as a nursery worker at Shurlington Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jim Leach, parents, Pauline Kitchens Cawthon and John Kitchens, sisters, Carolyn Tracy and Sue Elouise Kitchens, and brother, Everett Kitchens. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Mario Leblanc, and her grandkitties, Ming, Penelope, Elyse and Adam, several cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and longtime girlfriends, Rosie Deal, Earlene Garrett, Pat Pittman and Alice Strozier.

The family would like to extend thanks to Lynn Haven Nursing Home, Amedisys Hospice and Home Health, Vickie and Terry Berrier, Jan Corbin, Kathy Evans, Adam Mosely, Mike and Julie Liles, Melinda Pollard and Jack Shelley for the care and kindness they showed throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mrs. Leach’s memory to Elam Baptist Church, the Amedisys Foundation or any animal rescue organization.

Visiting with Aunt Marilyn was always enjoyable. We would talk: of neighbors sharing the morning paper; of sawing large limbs to get them.out of her front yard; of cats who needed a meal; of amusing acts of her cat that brought on a smile and a little chuckle; and of course of Lauren and her daily calls to check on her.She ask of my family remembering names.and places. She didn't need a big fancy TV or a new chair, what she had was just fine. She did need to.keep a mirror shine on her piano and she did need to bake me homemade.cookies (Lauren's favorite) to take home with me. She was a blessing of God to.me.

Heaven had a special delivery yesterday. Mrs Leach was a very kind hearted person. She took care of me when I was very young because my mom had to work. She was very kind and gracious to me whenever I came over. Its sad to hear of her passing, but I celebrate her arrival into Gods hands. God Bless you Mrs Leach.
