Marion Mooring Jones passed away Sunday, July29, 2018 at Bolingreen Health Center. Marion was born April 24, 1941 in Ipswich, England. She was the youngest daughter of Thomas Henry and Nellie Mooring. Marion moved to the United States in 1968 and became a United States citizen. She lived in Macon for 45 years.
Marion was a nurse at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, and VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia. She was an avid dog lover. Marion enjoyed writing and sharing her poetry.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Henry and Nellie Mooring of Ipswich, England, sisters, Helen Clayden and Mary Haxton of New Zealand and her son, James W. Jones of Macon. Marion survivors include her daughters Theresa (James) Allmond of Macon, GA and Alison (Regina) Jones of Ellenwood, GA, Mary Mooring of New Zealand, her brother, Leonard Mooring of New Zealand and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held on Monday, August 6 at 3 p.m. at Forest Hills United Methodist Church with visitation at the church at 2 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite animal rescue organization, the World Wildlife Fund or the American Humane Society.
