Martha V. Sandefur

GRAY – Martha Virginia Sandefur, 92, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with her grandson, the Rev. Jeremy Sandefur officiating. The family will meet friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. They suggest that memorial contributions be made to Hospice Advantage, Suite B-3, 3902 Northside Drive, Macon 31210 or to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Georgia Chapter, Suite 201, 277 M. L. King, Jr. Blvd., Macon 31201.

Mrs. Sandefur, wife of the late James E. Sandefur, was born in Roberta. She was the daughter of the late Clayton Brown Whitaker and Hallie Gertrude Gordon Whitaker. She was a graduate of Crawford County High School and was a devoted homemaker. Mrs. Sandefur was of the Baptist Faith and served as a volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Milledgeville.

Survivors include her sons, John C. (LaDonna) Sandefur, Sr. and William Carey (Kelly) Sandefur of Gray; her grandchildren, Debbie Hay and Clay Sandefur of Forsyth, Jeremy Sandefur of San Antonio, TX and Michael Sandefur of Macon; her great grandchildren Chelsea Music, Leslea Cochran, Sunny, Skyler, Summer, Ryder and Josiah Sandefur; three great-great grandchildren.
