Martha Raines-McMichael Windham

Martha Raines McMichael Windham, 96, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Snow’s Memorial Chapel on Bass Rd with Steve Stanley officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Macon’s Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Ave Macon, GA 31204.

Martha was born in Buena Vista, Georgia to the late Elizabeth and Lovard McMichael. She taught for the Bibb County Board of Education and was the president of the Southern Ladies Railroad Club for a number of years. Martha was a member of Riverside Methodist Church. Martha was known for her green thumb as an avid gardener and her love of the Atlanta Braves. Above all, Martha was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Huey Cecil Windham; sisters, Ann, Marguerite, Elizabeth, and Lillian.; and brother, John Robert (Sonny)

Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Mike Windham (Danielle), Bill Windham, and James Windham; grandchildren, Deborah Flannery, Kevin Thomson (Jillian), Amber Sapp (James), Lisa Hill (Paul), Laura Pellicone (John), Jacob Windham, Garrett Windham (Cassie), Lance Windham (Christie), Ryan Windham, and Kelsey Pena'Pelaez (Humberto); 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
