Mary Hughes Baird

Mary “Mimi” Hughes Baird passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Mark Hudgins will officiate. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:30 at the graveside. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at PruittHealth – Peake for their loving care and support.

Mrs. Baird was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia and graduated from Decatur High School. She attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, Georgia. She was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and was retired from the Georgia Farm Bureau. Mrs. Baird was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Edmund Baird and she was the daughter of the late Ruth Davies Hughes and Andrew Samuel Hughes.

Mrs. Baird is survived by those she cherished most in her life, daughters, Nancy Baird Crosby (John), Joyce Baird Meadows (John); her beloved grandchildren, Andrew Norris Meadows, Mary Beth Meadows Anderson (Phillip), Emily Meadows Ellison (William), John Rieves Meadows, III, Dr. Kathryn Crosby Chance (Brad), Lucy Crosby Cochran (John), and Courtney Suzanne Crosby; four great-grandchildren.
