

Mary Louise Johnston, 82, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at 12:30 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville. Father Dawid Kwaitkoski will officiate. The Rosary will be said at 6 p.m., Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. The family suggests that those who wish should make memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 830 Poplar Street, GA 31201.
Mrs. Johnston, daughter of the late John Patrick Gowley and Marguerite Walsh Gowley, was born in Hartford, CT. She served with the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Mrs. Johnston was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Johnston of Macon; her daughters, Laura Mitchell of Panama City Beach, FL and Anne Barnard of Birmingham, AL; her sons, Jay Johnston of Quakertown, PA and Joe Johnston of Dallas, TX; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Gowley, Peggy Holt and Patty Shields, all of Wethersville, CT.
