Born in Mystic, Georgia, Mary Faye was the daughter of the late Kathleen and Clifford Crowe. She was the devoted wife of the late George "Louie" Warthen and was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph “Joe” Randall Warthen.
Mary Faye dedicated her career to shaping young minds as a teacher with the Bibb County Board of Education, spending many meaningful years at Agnes Barden Elementary. Her calm presence, patient spirit, and gentle humor left a lasting impression on countless students.
A faithful member of Ingleside Baptist Church, Mary Faye was active in the Kate Davis Sunday School Class, and served in the library for many years. She lived her life sharing her faith and joy with others always immersing herself in Scripture. She was a member of the Wesleyan Woods Garden Club, and The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary. Mary Faye loved playing Canasta with friends, watching birds from her window, sitting on the back deck at her home, and baking something sweet. Above all, Mary Faye cherished time with her family, who meant the world to her.
Mary Faye is survived by her daughter, Judy Warthen of Jacksonville, FL; her sister, Joyce Carlton of Macon; her grandchildren, Joe "Scoot" Warthen (Hanna) of Stafford, VA, and Dustin Warthen of Byron; and her great‑grandson, Weston Warthen of Stafford, VA. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
