Miriam Gordon Trammell, 86, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 12:30 on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with the Rev. Julie Long officiating with a private burial. The family will greet friends following the service. Mrs. Trammell was born in Sparta, Georgia to the late Evie Toulson Gordon and Melvin Monroe Gordon. She graduated from Miller High School and received her A.B. Degree from Mercer University. Mrs. Trammell was retired from the Bibb County Board of Education, where she was a teacher for 30 years at Whittle Elementary School, and a member of the Bibb Educators Association and National Educator Association. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Christ, and teacher and director of the Young Couples Sunday School Class for 64 years. Mrs. Trammell was also a member of the Macon Exchangettes.
Mrs. Trammell was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law: Caren Trammell.
Mrs. Trammell is survived by her loving husband of 64 years: James E. Trammell of Macon; one daughter: Annette (Tom) McCullough of Dallas, GA; one son: Jimmy Trammell of Rome, GA; five grandchildren: Christi (Ryan) Ayers, Christopher (Lindsey) McCullough, Justin Trammell, Joshua (Mallory) Trammell and Chad McCullough and three great-grandsons: Justin and Wyatt McCullough and Landon Ayers.
