

ED GRAMMER, Jr.Chief Warrant Officer2 (Ret.) MACON – Ed Grammer, Jr. CWO2 (Ret.), 75, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010 in a local hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the chapel of Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ed Chambliss will officiate. The family will meet friends from 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday and 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to Macon-Bibb County Humane Society, 1354 Nottingham Drive, Macon 31211. Mr. Grammer, son of the late Murray Edgar Grammer, Sr. and Fannie Lou Phillips Grammer, was born in Coleanor, AL and had lived in Macon the past thirty-six years. He served with the U.S. Army, was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Star and retired after more than twenty years’ service. He retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base and currently worked at Sears. Mr. Grammer was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife, Virginia A. Fields Grammer of Macon; his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Ann and Keith Elftman of Kansas; two grandchildren, Kristy (Scott) Thomas and Kimberly (Matthew) Wyglendowski; five great grandchildren; his brother, Ronnie Grammer of Pleasant Grove, AL.
