

NEWTON DREXEL “BILL” PITTS, SR. MACON – Newton Drexel “Bill” Pitts, Sr., 74, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with the Rev. Jay Jones officiating. The family will meet friends from 3 p.m. to service time on Friday at the funeral home and may be contacted at the Bickford residence, 1151 Ousley Place, Macon 31210. They ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Central Georgia Affiliate, 248 Tom Hill, Sr. Blvd., PMB 437, Macon, GA 31210. Mr. Pitts, son of the late William Rufus and Alice Haupt Pitts, was born in Dodge County and had lived in the Middle Georgia Area most of his life. He was retired owner and operator of Macon Garment and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his children, Drexel (Toni) Pitts, Jr. of Lizella, Denise (Alan) Bickford of Macon, Dale (Sara) Pitts of Tulsa, OK, Jennifer Pitts of Fort Valley; seven grandchildren, Brian Pitts, Lori Sanders, Blade Pitts, Jasmine Evans, Aleigha Evans, Bryant Evans, Jr. and Olivia Evans; one great grandson, Seth Sanders; his siblings, Jeanette (Gilbert) Mullis of Beach Island, SC, Louise Selph of Cochran, Ed Pitts of Eastman, Faye (Jim) Purcell of N.
