Nora H. Walker

Nora Howell Walker, age 91, passed away on August 28, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at Sand Grove Church in Milan, GA at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Mrs. Walker will lie in state in the church from 12:00 until 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Brad Marchman and Rev. Danny Gay will officiate. Visitation will be held at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono on Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Lawrence Drive Baptist Church Building Fund, 5774 School Rd., Macon, GA 31216.

Mrs. Walker was born in 1919 in Dodge County to the late Ben E. Howell and Cassie Poole Howell. She lived in Telfair County before moving to Macon and working at Robins Air Force Base until retirement where she then moved to Dodge County and then back to Macon seven years ago. She was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church and the Ruth Bible Class. She was preceded in death by her husband Tommie Lee Walker.

She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Virginia Herring of Macon, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog “Susie.”
