She led a full life of love, joy and service to others. The only child of Frank John Guy and Mattie May Stewart Guy.
Patsy was born on March 10th, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved to Macon, GA in 1940 and attended Miller Girls High School and Mercer University. She married the late E.J. Fried and dedicated her life to family, friends and countless charitable and civic organizations as well as the John Drew Smith Tennis Center and her beloved Theatre Macon. Patsy's volunteerism throughout her life and generous spirit were most recently recognized on May 17, 2012, as a 2012 Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scout Council. This was just one of many accolades, too numerous to mention. She loved to travel and toured the world as a citizen ambassador of The Friendship Force. She welcomed many new friends from around the world into her home through various organizations. Patsy considered her greatest accomplishments in life to having been a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Also, to the best of her knowledge and belief in her eighty-eight years of life she had never made an enemy, only friends. To know Patsy was to love her: her sense of humor, her stage presence, her dignity and respect for others combined with her outgoing and generous personality makes her truly unforgettable.
Patsy was a member of Temple Beth Israel, where she was an active participant in the Temple Sisterhood Chit Chat Club. She has served as a board member of: Theatre Macon, Plays for Family Living, Macon Clown Club, The Children's Hospital and as an inaugural member of the Macon Family Counseling Center. She was the co-founder and co-chairman of the Middle Georgia Chapter of the Make a Wish Foundation. She gave her time to many organizations including the Mentors Project, the Georgia Academy for the Blind, Museum of Arts and Sciences, Cherry Blossom Festival, The Humane Society of Macon, Volunteer Macon and the American Red Cross, just to name just a few.
