A visitation for Mann will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Snow's Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon, GA. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Ingleside Baptist Church, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon, GA with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Craig Hospital, 3425 S. Clarkston St., Englewood, CO 80113.
Mann was born on May 7, 1952, to Joe and Judy Mann. After graduating from Willingham High School, Mann earned his undergraduate degree at Georgia College and State University. After this, Mann earned his Master's in Public Administration from Mercer University.
Mann was an active member of Ingleside Baptist church and enjoyed spending his time outdoors and with his grandchildren as much as possible. While working for the Bibb County Sheriff’s office in 1977, Mann was shot in the line of duty leaving him paraplegic. Mann always said this was the best day of his life as it brought him to Christ. He proudly stated he would rather be a Christian in a wheelchair than a walking non-Christian. While this accident left him in a wheelchair, it did not slow him down. Mann continued to work for the Sheriff’s office until he retired after almost 30 years.
He also volunteered at churches and schools, continued hunting, fishing, and traveled the world competing in wheelchair sports. Mann even earned a purple heart and numerous gold and silver medals in the Paralympics. Despite these honorable accolades Mann's greatest accomplishment was that of a Godly husband and father.
Mann was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Judy Mann.
Mann is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of fifty-two years, Elaine Hodges Mann; daughters, Jana Miller (Mann); Katherine Chambers (Mann); sister Susan Petermann (Mann); and five grandchildren Rebekah Jane, Judah, Eden, Isaac Wayne, and Lilly Ann. He will be forever loved and remembered by all those who knew him.
