Brooks Coates passed away at the age of 40 on Monday, March 15, 2021, in Macon, GA. He was born on June 11, 1980 in Natchez, Mississippi. Brooks was known by everyone for his enormous heart and go-to attitude. He leaves behind his parents, Don and Karen, who love him more than words can express. Brooks also leaves behind a brother and best friend, Reeves; his favorite sister, Katie; his brother-in-law, Bert Goldman; and their three children, Andrew, Kenda Marie, and Patrick. They adored their Uncle Brooks and will miss his abounding love, big hugs and lift-ups, and playful times together.
Brooks and his significant other and love of his life, Andrea Tice, had been sweethearts during their high school years. After some years apart on life’s different pathways, their hearts once again found each other. Andrea will miss the loving care, laughs, and happy times they shared as they were building their lives together. Their frisky dog Daisy will also miss Brooks’ snuggles, hugs, and their fun frolics together.
Brooks was a joyful person who never missed an opportunity to find and express his hilarious quick wit and humor in any situation. His loving bond will be cherished by his aunts and uncles - Peggy and George, Johnny and Dottie, Fred, Al and Lissa, and Davy and Diana. Forever in their memories his strong bond will be remembered by his cousins Karen, Christine, Lisa and Jeff, Frederick and Jennifer, John Paul and Ashley, Claire and Justin, and Jamie, and also his countless friends in the Natchez and Macon areas.
He spread his joy in the many places in which he lived: Mississippi, Virginia, Nebraska, the Philippines, Warner Robins, and Macon, GA. Brooks graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Warner Robins, GA; he was a Mount de Sales Academy graduate with the class of 1998 in Macon, GA. In 2006, he earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH.
